RIP Felix

Last night on our way to the store James and I were laughing and enjoying our drive until....a flash of black bolted in front of the truck...and seriously in a blink of an eye....we knew what had happened...a black cat had been hit by our truck tires.

There were two responses to this...

Ashley..." Oh that is too bad....poor cat...okay let's go shopping." As some of you already know I am not that fond of cats to me they are creepy and weird. My sympathy wasn't all that much even though I did feel bad that we hit it I'm not that heartless.

James..." OH MY GOSH!!!! AHHHH! Did that just really happen? I feel like crap...I'm turning this truck around! That poor cat has a family Ash, I have killed a family member!!!! AHHHHH.....I feel sooo bad..." and this continues for another thirty minutes as we circle around this cat in the road not knowing what to do with it because we are on one of the busiest roads in Layton.

Then as we almost get to our destination I ask with a sly grin what do you think his name was, midnight perhaps? And before I could even finish my sentence James yells FELIX! We named the cat we killed....and with that...this post is dedicated to poor poor Felix...RIP! haha!

Charlie Brown Halloween at the Campbell's

(James enjoying chocolate imagine that)

We had a lot of fun on Halloween. James dressed up as Charlie Brown and it was hilarious! He looked great. We had so many cute neighbor kids come to our house all night long. They looked adorable, and were so excited to show James and me their costumes. Some of our good friends from Syracuse and Plain City stopped by to visit and bring their cute boys over! Our neighbors came over a bit later to hang out and have some fun with the chocolate fountain (thanks Linzi) and a movie which to my dismay I fell asleep for probably eighty percent of it! I was wiped out! Sorry guys! However, we did have a good game of Yahtzee...which not to brag or anything but I WON!!! Haha!

The Family

I would be very ungrateful at this point in my life to not express my love and appreciation to my family. What a beautiful day it is today! I love my husband so much. James works so hard to make our life wonderful and full. He is my eternal companion, and I sure would not want anyone else to share this journey and experience with. He is my rock. James is a true example of compassion, strength, kindness, and love. He makes me a better person in every aspect of my life.

My mom and dad have sacrificed so much for their children. I am blessed to have been raised by such faithful and spiritual parents. They have built a foundation for me, that I am the most grateful for.

I love my sisters and brother. What examples they are to me. Linzi is a beautiful, smart, independent woman who is confident and caring to those people whom she loves. Madison is the baby of the family. She is loved more by everyone beyond words. Madison is a peacemaker, athletic, sweetest child you will ever meet. Shane is someone I look up to. He is serving a mission in Ghana, Africa right now and I will not see him for almost two years still. I miss him more and more. He is actively serving our Father in Heaven, and loving it! He is strengthening his Testimony while he is teaching others about their Heavenly Father's love for them.

Family is beautiful. Family is memories. Family is sharing and having faith in one another. Family is being there for each other when one is having a difficult time. Family is eternal. Family is forever. I love my family. I love going to the temple and feeling the love of my family while I am there. I love when I pray and fast for my family I feel the spirit, and know that everything will be okay. I am a blessed child of my Heavenly Father. He sent me to this Earth blessing me with a family where He knew love would always continue.

What We Have Been Up To

The front of the house..you can see we have bark in now. (this update is mostly for family back in Oregon that never get to come over to my house as much as I would like so sorry if this is a boring post for the rest of ya)
James at our new computer and recently changed office set up...it will work for now.

I have started decorating for fall...hence the scarecrow and fall lights...the lights look so pretty at night!

Finally our vinyl lettering on the front door...I love it! Goes with our whole theme...with the bird bath in the front yard. I think it really turned out cute.

Miley Cyrus, Portland Ore.

I am proud to say my two sister's and I went to the Miley Cyrus concert on Monday. Thanks Madi for inviting me to come with! Madison got three tickets to the concert for her birthday in June, she could take anyone she wanted, and she wanted her sister's to go with!
We had a blast! Watching Linzi and Madi rock out was hilarious! Party in the USA! haha! The concert was packed! I hope they had as much fun as I did!
Thanks to my family for making my trip up to Oregon a fun and memorable one. James survived without me for six days, what a trooper! Thanks to good neighbors he was very well taken care of and occupied.:)
While I was gone, I really missed my husband so much. This was one of the first times in our marriage where I was away from him for so long. James is really an amazing husband. I could not be any luckier of a person to have found someone I love and want to be with for the rest of forever. He had suprised me by putting up the blinds and drapes on the entry window that was WAY high (sidenote heard he almost tore the chandelier down doing it though haha), he also had flowers for me at the airport, and a cute welcome home present waiting for me when we got home from the airport, and even fixed our washer that was having some issues. I couldn't have been happier! I think I should go out of town more often haha just kiddin! Life is great! I love my family, and the people who try to make my life better and happier. We have a very blessed life and have a ton to be grateful for! It's all working out.

I'm sure there will be plenty more entertaining things to soon post. Things are going great...loving life and loving being together! I sure am lucky to have this guy as my husband forever! So many laughs and hopefully many more to come!

Bunches of Boxes

We are moved in and loving our new place! I hate the never ending boxes though! Hopefully by this weekend we can park our cars in the garage haha! James has been amazing...everyday after work we try to take a load in, and he even got up way early in the morning Sat. and Sun. to move some storage into our basement. What a great husband I have! We are loving the space we have now! Besides my broken back from moving all the heavy furniture in I'm doing greeeat! P.S. Trying to move our very over sized couch down in the basement was noooo fun at all...First of all I got stuck down there for about half an hour until my father in law could come and try to help, and secondly it won't fit...now we need to find a happy home for our couch we just love sooo much...I'm not happy about this:( James is excited at the thought of getting a sectional or leather set down there because they come in pieces before putting them together....but I'm upset because it's just one more thing to buy eventually!

Shattering of the Granite

Main bath/Guest bathroom!
Steve-o aka inspector gadget this one is for you...looks like a beauty now! Thanks again! How's that cookbook by the way haha!

Sink in the half bathroom
Dirty kitchen sink...we love having this black quartz and granite sink...will be nice to clean and it is scratch resistant...it better be!
Granite is finally in....it's got shades of brown with black...
You can see how original it really is on the bar...it's got major brown splotches but we think it looks amazing and totally unique!

We have a garage door! Looks like driveway, stairs possibly, patio are all going to be poured soon!
So side story...our granite should have been put in on Monday, but it wasn't. I was feeling a little frustrated, but we were talking with Nate the builder and he told us that our granite did come in on time but the company hired to install the granite had a little problem. As they were hoisting the granite into the house one of the belts broke and the granite landed on the ground shattering into pieces...whooooopsies! Holy toledo...glad I didn't see that one!
